Hey /r/brisbane I’m moving into a house that is technically in Rochedale South but it is right on the border with Springwood. Our ISP options include both Optus and Telstra cable. I have done some reading and have encountered many complaints about Optus cable slowing down to 3mbs during peak time in the Rochedale South area. On the Optus forums and here on the subreddit people have said that infrastructure upgrades were pending and should have taken place by now. Can anybody on Optus comment on this and just in general about average speeds and how peak hours effect your internet? Ultimately, if we are reasonably sure that the service with Optus will be unsatisfactory our plan is to save a cancellation fee and go straight with Telstra.
