Hey folks, I’m in a pickle. I’m completely self taught/learnt in the job almost all of my skillsets. I have no formal qualifications at the moment. I’m currently studying part time a law degree (but I’m considering changing given the state of competitiveness and glut of grads). In any case, I’ve been working in claims management for group life insurers over the last 3 years. I was essentially a senior claims manager without the formal “senior” title. My contract was not extended, due to mutual agreement, past the end of last month. I’ve been applying and interviewing for the past 6 months with very little success despite tailored cover letters and resumes, approaching interview questions with STAR style responses, and not bad mouthing my employer at the time despite the fact I am rather disgruntled with them.
