Just outside from Fortitude Valley train station there’s a walkway between Valley Metro shops and McWhirters shops where ‘The Chinese Club’ used to sit. Theres a dark section with no lighting, then you pass a small $2 store and the empty premises where The Chinese Club once was and you can see the boarded over elevators and graffiti, followed by the bridge that goes over Wickham street. I walk through here 3-4 times a week and I’ve always wondered why nothing is done about fixing this. It’s not exactly ideal or safe that people have to walk through a section with no lighting at all as well as the eyesore that once was The Chinese Club. Online articles suggests it’s been empty since 2008 and references a dispute between two owners. Can someone shed some light on this? Why has the place been empty all these years and nothing is
