Boss refuses to pay me the hours that I worked. Is this legal?

Hi all, bit of background. I’m currently employed casually at company X (working full time hours). At the end of last week we were snowed in by emails. On Thursday we still hadn’t replied to emails that had been sent in on the previous Sunday. Way behind. As it turned out, I had to take my girlfriend to the airport at around 4am on Friday morning, and given that I work close to the airport I decided to head into the office straight after. I asked my manager the day before and he said that I was free to come in early. I arrived about 4:30am, worked from 4:30am until 2pm, at which point I was sent home. Today, one of the payroll girls comes and asks me if I can send her the hours that I worked, as I couldn’t clock in at 4:30am and she needed hours for
