Hi Brisbanites, My 7 year-old daughter is taking a shine to soccer but I’m wary that her complaints that she’s the only girl in her soccer skills class will devolve into her giving up on something she enjoys and that gets her away from screens. (I’m wary of all the boys too, because it seems boys are jerks – she’s easily one of the better-skilled kids there, but whenever it’s time to select teams she’s always picked last. :/ ) I’ve found a number of soccer clubs that claim ‘girls can play too!’ on their websites but I don’t see many pictures with a healthy mix of both genders.
