I need a new laptop for work, and it needed to be purchased this financial year, so couldn’t get amongst any of the EOFY sales from the past few weeks. Ultimately, I’m pretty sure I’m chasing an ‘ultrabook’. Not too fussed about the brand in particular, but the following are my top 3 factors when selecting a machine: Battery life – as long as possible. I’ll be taking this thing from meeting to meeting, and I also work remotely as well. Don’t always have the luxury of plugging in, so need to be able to get at least 7 or 8 hours use in between charges. Light-weight – as per above, this thing needs to come with me everywhere, so the lighter the better. But, because its primarily a work machine, I’d like a decent keyboard (as opposed to a clip on thing that turns a tablet into a laptop).
