Head of a Queensland residents' group attacked by about 20 people in a park

The President of the Ipswich Residents’ and Ratepayers’ Association, Jim Dodrill, has been treated in hospital for injuries after he and his father were attacked by about 20 people in a parkland. Fifty-two-year-old Jim Dodrill and his 73-year-old father went to the park to meet a stranger who’d raised concerns about trail-bike riding and four-wheel-driving in the area. When they were spotted trying to take photos of the drivers of the bikes and off-roaders, they were surrounded and beaten with bottles, rocks and a pole.
