I went to NSW a few weekends ago, and on the following Tuesday I received a text from OSR NSW advising that my fine for $108 is overdue and needed to be paid immediately. That was quick, I thought, and so I enquired about this. Turns out someone else had used my number and therefore the text accidentally got sent to me. It’s an old number they used, they said. Fair enough, I thought, I’d only had the number since February. So they put a stop on my account about notifying me and on my merry way I went. Today I received an email about the same infringement. I’ve had that email address since I started interneting, some 15 years ago or so. This has me a little worried – in no way can I think that my number and email address could have been linked, so… how did this
