At times the playfulness of this subreddit reminds me of the brief but glorious time when PowerUp was a Bulletin Board Service (BBS) and shared that dial-up space with a bunch of others. Various Brisbane people would share pics (maybe even of Adelaide st) critique various experiences at McDonalds and organise get-together BBQs via dial-up access to the PowerUp BBS. Then suddenly over what appeared to be a few months everyone went from just accessing a local BBS to accessing an ISP via PowerUP and the wonder of the Internet distracted us from pics of Adelaide st … until now 😀 Here’s a brief history of PowerUp I found.
