Hey all, I’ve emigrated from the UK in July last year and I’ve been struggling to get work over here in Australia. In the UK I worked in environmental consulting specialising in GIS with data management and a bit of software development (although not enough experience for me to credibly apply for SD jobs here). Since arriving in Australia, as I expected, I found it tough to find work. I’m not whining about this, I came into it with my eyes wide open knowing it may take months to find a position. My concerns have been that I can’t get ANY job, anywhere and I’m not sure why. The advertisements come thick and fast but I never seem to get to interview. I’ve got a bachelors degree and three years of experience but I’m not even getting responses for entry level jobs in any industry. I’ve tried simplifying my CV
