Just did the figures and I will end up paying about $5000 a year to my private health insurer. If I was too pull out and just pay the medicare surcharge apparently I would only be slugged an extra $3500 in taxes. Jesus fucking christ government , stop giving low income earners all these tax breaks, health cards and discounted rates and utilities and help middle Australia out.
