Getting that excellent and entirely useless relocation scholarship in a few weeks and have allotted myself $1500 all up to buy a decent commuter bike with all the extra bits (good lock, parts, front basket, multi tool, tubeless tyre setup, stand, helmet etc) and i’m considering a Lekker Amsterdam in 7 speed because I’d ideally like something I can upgrade and rely on for 5+years. I’m yet to see anyone ride a fixed gear in my (St lucia/Taringa) area and I think the substantial hills are a reason.
