Southbank or Kelvin Grove for student accommodation?

I’ll be attending QUT GP (first year) in the next few weeks and need to find accommodation asap. Student accom. in the city is too expensive. I’ve found an apartment in Kelvin Grove (right in QUT KG campus) and one in South Bank for the same price. I can take the shuttle free from KG apartment but I can also walk to QUT GP from SB apartment. They are both good options. Which is better in terms of social/uni life? Is there much students living in SB? Does all the events/parties happen in KG because there’s a campus there with tons of student accommodation? I just don’t want to be isolated/miss out if I live in SB. I want to meet a ton of other students and have fun. I know most uni students don’t have cars so would they even want to come and meet me in SB? submitted
