The air train is just ridiculous. It’s now $18 to get to the airport from the city on the train by using a go card. The stupid system as it is at the moment means it’s cheaper to buy a new go card and throw it away than use your own one. It’s not even that expensive in Sydney. The silliest thing is that it’s actually cheaper to get to Coolangatta airport than it is Brisbane airport. It’s only economical to get from the airport via the train if you’re travelling alone or if you’re going from Brisbane airport to the GC. Otherwise a Uber for two people to the city would be cheaper than the two train tickets. The company that operates the air train probably rakes it in.
