So the sharehouse I’m in just had a wonderful housemate move out. She’s left us with $140 (her share) of the power bill unpaid, a flea infestation in her room and just a extremely poorly cleaned room (a solid layer of cat hair on the fan, for example). She was on the bond and the lease, however the real estate agent says we can’t withhold any of her bond to cover the power bill, or any cleaning from the mess she left. Is there anything we can do?
