Former Western Australian Black Heart Bart has added another vital dimension to this years group one Cox Plate after he easily accounted for his weight for age rivals in Saturday’s Underwood Stakes at Caulfield. His victory may have now uncovered some genuine opposition to the all-conquering race mare Winx, who until Saturday appeared to have a vice-like grip on Australia’s most important weight for age event. Most were querying that Black Heart Bart had the capabilities of managing the 1800metres of the Underwood, however, he merely ambled away from his rivals.
