Hello all, I’m an American who’s visiting Brisbane for two weeks on December 8th. Im into the outdoors and trees and shit so that’s mostly my plan. I’ll be bicycling/bussing to the gold coast and sunshine coast from Brisbane. I’d like to climb mt. Warning and Mt. Tibrogargan while I’m there. I’m planning on camping for most of my stay, but I’m not entirely sure how camping works in Queensland. In the States you pretty much just throw a tent on anything owned by the Forest Service or Bureau of Land Management and you’re good to go. It appears that you guys actually have a system and rules. I’m also not sure how to pack for your climate. It seems like it rains a lot, but in short bursts? Would I be alright just bringing a rain tarp or bivy, or should I just get a tent?
